About the Artist

"Inspired by the connection between all living things, Sophie’s work is heavily influenced by natural patterns. Her recent observational paintings began as a study of the organic structure and rhythm of patterns found in earthly forms such as plants and rocks. Her adoration for natural arrangements plays into her beadwork. She fashions pieces from a breadth of semi-precious stone, shells, and an assortment of ceramic and glass beads into nature-inspired collections of jewelry. Oscillating between oil painting and beaded jewelry, her painting practice has evolved to explore beads as her primary muse.

Sophie Linden is an interdisciplinary artist from Farmington Hills, Michigan. Her work encompasses a body of hyperrealistic oil and acrylic paintings, beaded jewelry and ink drawings. In the winter of 2020 Sophie also spent two months studying at SACI College of Art and Design in Florence, Italy. After graduating, Sophie moved to Detroit, Michigan, where she currently works out of a home-based studio.
